Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.
Hours are published for 2 days a week. Typical hours are 11 AMβ9 PM. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (814) 895-3153. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is heritagepizzaaltoona.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 224 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded pizza restaurants in Altoona.
Altoona is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Altoona is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I moved from Seattle Washington to Altoona. This is the best pizza Iβve had since coming here. Cheap as hell, comes out quick, and it looks great.

the pizza was okay. but there was a spider in the salt and pepper shakers and after i let the manager know. He avoided me. Definitely not a good pizza place. Edit: you guys absolutely did not. and the fact that yall sit there and lie about it is crazy. to each their own tho.

The buffalo chicken pizza is incredible. Seriously. But oddly enough, thatβs not why this is a 5-star review. I recently moved to Altoona and quickly discovered a tragic problem: apparently hard scooped ice cream is an endangered species around here. Everywhere I looked, it was soft serve. Good soft serve, sure. But it simply was not hitting that hard scooped itch I so desired. Then Heritage Pizza entered my life like a hero in a dairy-covered cape. Not only do they have great pizza, but theyβre serving BOTH Ritcheyβs and Penn State Creamery ice cream. I genuinely almost couldnβt believe it. My search is over. My soul can rest. So yes, come for the buffalo chicken pizza. But stay because this place somehow understood the deep emotional needs of transplanted ice cream people like me.

We got a Stromboli and a large pepperoni pizza. The Stromboli was the star of the show. It was fantastic. The pizza had a good taste but could use a little more pepperoni. They use the little cupped pepperoni, which is not my favorite. The young men working there were friendly and professional. Prices were fair.

I had a fantastic experience at this charming and inviting pizza shop! The staff were incredibly well-mannered and welcoming, making the whole visit even more enjoyable. The pizza was absolutely deliciousβclearly made with care and quality ingredients. The seating area was clean and comfortable, and I appreciated the ample parking available, which made getting in and out a breeze. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, this place is a solid choice. And the lunch special? Super cheap and an unbeatable value! Exceptional service all around. Highly recommended!
